Inmate Library

In November 2023, the Norfolk City Jail had to stop accepting book deliveries directly from publishers and Amazon because contraband was getting into the jail through the delivery of those items and posing a threat to the life, health, and safety of those in the facility.

In January 2024, the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office hosted a book drive to refresh the books in the Inmate Library. The book drive was a huge success and citizens have asked how they can continue to support the inmate library after the book drive.

With that in mind, we’ve curated a wish list of books recommended by our librarian on Amazon. You can contribute to the well-being of our inmates by purchasing one or more of these books through our Amazon Wish List.
